Why screen printing

Bright colour that scales with your order.

Screen printing pushes ink through a fine mesh stencil, one colour at a time. Each colour gets its own screen, so the setup is done once and every shirt after that is quick to print. The result is vivid, opaque colour that stands out on light and dark garments alike.

It's the best-value way to print event tees, merch, club shirts and staff T-shirts in larger numbers. We supply the garments at trade prices and help prepare your artwork for print.

Printing a handful of shirts, or a design full of gradients and photos? Digital printing needs no screens and is usually the better fit.

Questions

Screen printing questions, answered.

More on artwork, garments and delivery in our FAQ, or ask us directly.

How many colours can you screen print?

Each colour needs its own screen, so designs with fewer solid colours are the most cost-effective. For photographic or many-colour artwork, digital printing is usually a better fit.

Is there a minimum order for screen printing?

Because every colour needs a screen set up, screen printing is best for bigger runs. For a handful of shirts we'll usually suggest digital printing instead. Tell us your quantity and we'll recommend.

Will a screen print last?

Screen printing ink cures into a durable layer that holds up well to regular washing. Washing inside out and not ironing directly on the print keeps it looking its best.

Can you print on dark garments?

Yes. Screen printing gives strong, opaque colour on dark garments as well as light ones.
